Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 27, 2026

DiscipleGo provides tools for Scripture reading, prayer, relationships, and disciple-making. This Privacy Policy explains how DiscipleGo ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our website and services. Contact us at aubrey@disciplego.com.

Information we collect

  • Account information: your name, email address, password stored as a hash, account verification information, and preferences such as timezone, Bible translations, and display settings.
  • Information you enter: contact details, relationship information, private notes, prayer requests and updates, reading history, writing, saved sharing destinations, groups, meeting details, follow-ups, and locations. Locations can include addresses, coordinates, phone numbers, and meeting links when you provide them.
  • Information about other people: users can enter contact records, notes, prayer requests, invitations, and meeting information about people who do not have DiscipleGo accounts. We receive this information from the user who enters it.
  • Technical information: IP addresses, browser and device information, session identifiers, request and error logs, and information needed to secure and operate the service.
  • Optional contribution information: where financial support is enabled, payment processors and DiscipleGo handle contribution amounts, currency, payment status, billing dates, and customer, subscription, and transaction identifiers. Stripe collects payment details directly; DiscipleGo does not store full payment card numbers or security codes.

How we use information

We use information to provide and maintain DiscipleGo; save your records and preferences; authenticate accounts; send account, security, invitation, and service messages; process optional contributions; respond to requests; troubleshoot errors; prevent misuse; and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information or use private notes or prayer requests for targeted advertising.

Private records and sharing

Personal notes, prayer requests, contact records, and reading history are associated with the account that created them and are not automatically made public. Accepting a People invitation links accounts; it does not automatically share either person's private notes, contact details, or prayer requests.

Some features let you deliberately publish writing or share selected location information with accepted connections or other signed-in users. Review the audience and location precision before sharing. Public posts can be copied or indexed outside DiscipleGo; people who receive shared information may keep a copy even after you change its visibility. Saved private descriptions and person-location associations are not included merely because a place is shared.

Private does not mean inaccessible to the service operator. Authorized personnel and service providers may need access to operate, secure, troubleshoot, or support the service, respond to your requests, or meet legal obligations. We do not represent your records as end-to-end encrypted or protected by a professional confidentiality privilege.

Information about others and sensitive information

Prayer requests, ministry notes, and locations can reveal sensitive information, including religious beliefs, health concerns, and personal relationships. Enter only information you are authorized to provide and have an appropriate reason to keep. Obtain permission where required, use particular care with information about minors, and avoid entering passwords, government identification numbers, detailed medical records, or information that could put someone at risk. If another user has entered information about you, contact us to request review, correction, or deletion.

Service providers and external content

  • Hosting, storage, and email: infrastructure and email delivery providers process information needed to host the application, store records, deliver messages, and maintain security and reliability.
  • Scripture services: Scripture requests may be supplied by services such as API.Bible, NET Bible, and Tyndale. For certain translations, including NKJV supplied by API.Bible, the page loads API.Bible's usage-reporting script and sends passage-view tokens. The provider can receive technical information such as your IP address, browser information, and device or session identifiers. DiscipleGo does not intentionally send account names, email addresses, private notes, or prayer requests in those passage-view reports.
  • Location suggestions: when you use address or city suggestions, your search text is sent through DiscipleGo to Geoapify. Selected place details can be saved to your records. You can enter locations manually instead of using suggestions.
  • Videos, embeds, and external links: embedded media and linked services, including video and Bible-reading services, may receive your IP address, browser information, and other information when their content loads or you visit them. Their privacy practices apply to their services.
  • Payments: where contributions are enabled, Stripe processes Checkout and billing management under its own privacy practices. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

We may also disclose information when required by law or legal process, to protect people or the service, to investigate misuse, or as part of a transfer of the service, subject to applicable law and appropriate privacy protections.

Cookies and browser storage

DiscipleGo uses session and security cookies to keep you signed in and protect requests. Browser storage also remembers preferences such as appearance, text size, and dismissed notices. Blocking these mechanisms can affect sign-in and other features. Third-party Scripture reporting and embedded content may use their own cookies, storage, or identifiers. We do not currently offer a site-wide control that disables all third-party reporting or respond differently to browser Do Not Track signals.

Retention and deletion

We retain account information and saved records while needed to provide the service and for legitimate security, troubleshooting, legal, or recordkeeping purposes. Archiving a record or using a reversible delete does not necessarily permanently erase it. Some information, including payment records, may need to be retained after an account closes. Copies may remain in backups until those backups are overwritten or deleted.

To request account closure, deletion, correction, access, or a copy of your information, email aubrey@disciplego.com from your account email when possible. We may verify your identity and the scope of your request, and we may need to retain information or limit a request where the law permits or requires it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including objection, restriction, portability, withdrawal of consent where processing relies on consent, or review of a denied request. Contact us to exercise applicable rights or request a review; you may also contact your local privacy regulator.

Security and international access

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, including account authentication and access controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your password and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access. DiscipleGo and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live; privacy laws may differ between countries.

Children and teens

DiscipleGo accounts are for people age 13 and older. People under 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian and any additional permission required where they live. The service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect account information directly from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account or submitted personal information directly, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice of material changes when required by law. For privacy questions or requests, contact DiscipleGo at aubrey@disciplego.com. See also our Terms of Use.
